MELBOURNE, Florida — A Florida attorney says a couple who were rocketed into the public eye by the antics of a former astronaut are getting married.
Kepler Funk, a Melbourne attorney who represents Colleen Shipman, said Friday that she and former space shuttle pilot Bill Oefelein have gotten engaged. The couple, who now live in Alaska, have not set a date.

Authorities say Lisa Nowak, who worked with Oefelein in the space program, famously drove from Houston to the parking lot of Orlando International Airport in February 2007 to confront Shipman.

For those who may not know the story:
According to authorities, Nowak believed Shipman was romantically involved with Oefelein, and when she found out Shipman was flying to Orlando from Houston, she decided to confront her early Monday, according to the arrest affidavit.
Nowak raced from Houston to Orlando wearing diapers in the car so she wouldn’t have to stop to go to the bathroom, authorities said. Astronauts wear diapers during launch and re-entry.

Remember, Lisa went into space. It's known that your T-Cells stop working normally (if at all) in zero gravity conditions.
Then, she came back and her T-cells were "reset" and began working normally ~ and that could very well include some well-known AUTOIMMUNE reactions.
She could have developed Celiac Disease, Lupus Eurythematosis, and several other chronic conditions INSTANTLY.
She'd think she was crazy and so would folks who've not suffered from an autoimmune disorder.
There are also people who think all that sort of stuff is screened out in the astronaut selection program ~ but obviously it's not.
