What’s wrong with saying Palin should know how the other side thinks? You have to know in order to convert people over to your side. You must be able to refute what they say and do. Reagan was able to do it, and he did it very well. It’s seems very sexist to be pointing out Peggy’s age. Palin will be old too one day in the not too distant future. What then? Palin better hurry and run for President before her clock expires, 2012 will be her last chance according to your logic. No way will Palin unite the party, look at how her supporters are acting. They are acting angry because Palin gets you guys angry on purpose by responding to every single little attack. Palin knows exactly what she is doing. I wish I was wrong about her. This country won’t survive the next 10 years between what the left is and what the right is deteriorating into.

If Peggy were really concerned about the GOP and Palin, she would go directly to her and coach/criticize her. Noonan is a bitter old woman who is trying to destroy Palin.

Case in point, her comments that were quoted point out none of Sarah’s good qualities or when pointed out they are soon cut down.

This country does not need a leader who can examine and consider all the nuances of every issue. We have that now and it is going to get people killed.

We need a leader who understands what it means to represent the people and to let his or her moral compass guide the country through most major issues. Sarah has a good heart. That is a wonderful base to build on.

It is unfortunate that she does not appear to have Reagan’s instant insight into issues and to be able to articulate her thoughts and reactions. That does cause problems in interviews and debates. I hope she improves her knowledge catalog and impromptu speaking.

“No way will Palin unite the party”

You are absolutely correct! She unites conservatives not republicans! I'm a conservative, McCain, Mitt, Huckabee and Rudy are all republicans... I don't use the term RINO anymore, more republicans are liberal than conservative. Better to use the term conservative, and LEAVE THE REPUBLICAN PARTY out of it. The republican party is not conservative anymore. Not even close...

“Palin better hurry and run for President before her clock expires, 2012 will be her last chance according to your logic.”

Well, no. Noonan was born in 1950; Palin in 1964. So, Palin won’t be Noonan’s current age (59) until 2023.

Noonan’s age, per se, is not her problem. She officially went to the ‘dark side’ on or about January 20, 2005. At noon on that day, she was raving about President Bush’s inaugural address. By midnight, it was all but the worst inaugural speech in history according to dear ole Peg. Perhaps she suffers the “Irish Plague.”

It is peculiar that a middle class girl born in Brooklyn, NY and educated at non-Ivy League schools, and who so admires a boy born in Tampico, Ill who graduated from Eureka College, would grow up to hold such disdain for the girl from Wasilla who graduated from the University of Idaho.

"What’s wrong with saying Palin should know how the other side thinks?"

I can't ask Peggy so I would love to ask you... what makes you think Palin doesn't know what the other side thinks? I am just curious because I can't think of a specific example where Palin would leave you with this impression.

As far as the rest of Peggy's article, I am left thinking what is it about Palin that Noona fears? I believe what you HATE the most, you FEAR the most.

Peggy seems to look down on Palin and I wonder why? Peggy can't be looking down on her because Palin is a "country-club Republican." Sarah Palin resembles more the "common man" who is not rich similar to the family Peggy Noonan hailed from back in New Jersey.

But Sarah Palin is:

-Rich in spirit

-Rich in love

-Rich in courage

-Rich in honesty

-Rich in heart

Peggy Noonan's envy and resentment seem inauthentic and even cynical in her article. I don't believe Peggy Noonan is a Republican so I don't understand why at the end of her article she uses the word "we."
