A law student is facing ruin after using a false identity to get a £3,200 breast enlargement because she thought it would boost her career.
Nina Burmis, 19, pretended for two months to be called Jayne Ladylock while conning a cosmetic surgery group into paying for the hospital operation.
The second-year undergraduate, who also tried to buy a £77,500 house using false details, was told by a judge today she was not fit to study law.
Surgeons at a Manchester hospital gave her 32C silicone implants on December 12.
The Hull University student, also known as Shaneika, had been sent there by the Transform Clinic at Hessle, near Hull, after she went there for a consultation last November using her the name.
Crown barrister Nick Adlington told Hull Crown Court today clinic bosses became suspicious after a £500 cheque bounced.
'Burmis assured the clinic staff payment was coming,' he said.
But clinic staff called police after she failed to appear for her post-operative check-up.
Mr Adlington said Burmis already had two convictions for shop theft as a juvenile in Dartford.
He said Burmis also attempted to take out a mortgage by using a bank account with no money in it and supplying a forged reference and payslip for a building firm she had not worked for.
After the deception was uncovered she was interviewed by the police, who found she had retained a chequebook in the name of a collapsed company she had founded as a 16-year-old, BSM Techno.
During police interview she denied being Jayne Ladylock and claimed she had never had the 32C silicone implant to boost her career. She had to be identified by covert measures.

The ones who are "fit to study law" are the ones who can do this sort of thing without getting caught.
