So, there has to be a start somewhere, there has to be someone who can address these issues in language that is not offensive, yet with language that will not yield to the transparent and destructive left.

I fully agree. Discourse with the Left, (at least such as can be had--and this includes the media shoutovers which pass for 'debate' on the tube), must be conducted in such a way as to be able to get the message out on principle, without getting mired in being branded as evil over a turn of phrase.

If we stick to the idea that certain actions violate certain principles, that the seminal issues are really not fashion (note this tempest is over a few rags worn in Europe, and has nothing to do with the rampant violations of Constitutional law and intent going on), but are far more serious, with consequences which will reach deep into the vitals of America's economy and principles and rip the heart out still bloody and beating, issues which affect everyone here, then we have a shot at getting past the temple dogs of political correctness.

Our nation is being raped and the most comment seems to be generated over the victim's mismatched socks.

Have Americans been so conditioned to ignore the vital issues because understanding them is 'too hard' and concentrate on the fluff because of the 'drama' involved?

If that is the case, we have far more to remediate than our Republic, we need to wake up the citizenry, too, and before the spinmeisters can blame it all on some superficial nonsense to obscure the real issues at hand.

In the meantime, we have to survive the purges and Inquisition over the selection of wording which might offend the perpetually offended. As such we walk in the minefield of MSM generated 'public opinion'.

Ironic, really because since this Politically Correct/"hate" speech nonsense started, I have heard more people purposefully use undeniably offensive terms because they are so frustrated with mollycoddling protected groups of people they might have otherwise been civil with.

There is a backlash coming, and it will not be pretty when it happens, but will occur because people are tired of not receiving equal protection under the law, even though they are in the majority.

I very much agree with you. Oddly, I am a guy that really believes in a two-party system, or at least what a two-party system used to be. What I see coming down the road does not make me happy, but that said, I have vowed to die on my feet before I live on my knees, literally or other.

I think that my forefathers and yes, foremothers would expect nothing less. That is why I believe that more than ever before, we need a champion, a real true American who will stand up and tell the truth.

I have noted that lately, someone like Mrs. Palin who has the ability to speak to the folks garners much interest. Strange isn't it that Mrs. Palin speaks basic American values and is attacked by a leftist media, and not supported by the Republican party?

This tell me that the winds have changed. This tells me that the rules have changed. This tells me it is time for a more muscular Americanism to reassert itself and bring us back to reality.

Regards,
AR
