The original thread was about the shirt the kid was wearing. It was objectionable to some people. Are we not allowed to wonder why she was allowed to wear such things when they (the First Family) are overseas representing our country?

There was no wondering or conjecture going on at all -- the article said she was making a political statement, we were told she wore that shirt specifically to endorse the stance 0bama is taking. She chose it and chose to allow the press to photograph her and write it up. Eleven years old is not too young to understand the ramifications, consequences of one's actions.

I disagree. An 11 yr old is just that, a child. The kid probably has no idea really what it means. Other than what her parents told her and as a parent, I don’t allow anything in this house, on their body, with the peace symbol because of what it meant when I was a kid.

My 11 yr old would like to wear stuff with that on it. She doesn’t understand what it means or what it meant 30-40 yrs ago. We, as her parents, do. And the Obama’s also know. All the blame should be on their shoulders, not this 11 yr old kid who thought her clothes were cool.
