ABC's Dana Hughes reports from Nairobi:
Ahead of his trip to Ghana tomorrow, President Obama has invited Africans across the continent to send him a text message with their questions and thoughts. The invitation is extended on the State Departments America.gov Website, telling Africans Those who respond early will receive SMS highlights from his speech in Accra, Ghana, on Saturday, July 11.
The service is being offered in both English and in French and some Africas most populous countries have their own short codes.

Wonder if anyone will text him that they were born in the same hospital in Kenya?
I expect this event to become a security nightmare for the Secret Service. It is likely that thousands will take on the streets to get a glimpse of the one. I condolences to the the injured. I hope I am wrong.

You obviously haven’t ever been to Africa. Cell phones are the only real means of communication for Africans. Even if the family is too poor for a cell phone, they usually have access to one from their village. I would bet that almost every Ghanian has access to a cell phone.
...and is running up thousands of dollars in international texting bills. Figures.
