Christians need to focus on the Lord and stop worshipping government. Why in the world would Christians want a display of military might at their event? How about looking to God. How about loving your enemy.

Hmmmm, maybe because it was also about Christian’s duty to serve the country. Maybe because it was a celebration of the Christian heritage of this country.

Loving you enemy? A Christian also has a duty to protect his family and country, or do you think a Christian shouldn’t serve in the military?

Agreed but this tradition has been going on for 40 something years. There is nothing wrong with the blue angels at any event. It is quite obvious what 0bama is doing.

re: How about loving your enemy

I consider a powerful and readily apparent military, complete with fast planes, big guns, impressive ships and lots and lots of fighting men and women to be an integral part of loving my enemy. I love him enough to want to dispel any misplaced idea he might get that he can take me on and win. I love him enough to want to save him from himself when he gets a wild hair and even thinks about messing with me.

Once he attacks I’m left with no alternative but to wipe the surface of the Earth with him. Far better for him that he gets the message early and often that I’m a force to be reckoned with.

Let me see, I get the part of “love thy neighbor”, but I don’t get the “love thy enemy” part.
