NAMPA -- More than four decades of tradition were changed this year at the God and Country Family Festival in Nampa.
Typically, a military flyover is a highlight of the event, but this year it did not happen.
To make a fly over happen you have to get permission from the Pentagon.
It hasn't been a problem in the past but this year it was --all because of the word "God."

Are you anti-Christian or just being a smarta$$?
Our federal government is at war with the people it supposedly serves.
“Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.”
— Mark Twain
I guess the latter, but I was serious nontheless. Since when it is a Christian’s “duty” to serve their country? I have no doubt that there are closet Christian’s in North Korea, is it their duty to serve their country? Or is only an American Christian’s duty to serve the US? Because, I don’t really remember reading about the US in the bible.
“Its time to be done with that regime before he brings death to the United States.”
On his prayer rug wearing his crescent moon jammies, as he faces Mecca each night, he probably closes each prayer with “marg bar Amriki.”
Apparently, religious people’s tax dollars aren’t as good as anyone else’s.

Great interview, btw.
Excellent interview.
In general... God,honor,duty, country.
Let me see, I get the part of “love thy neighbor”, but I don’t get the “love thy enemy” part.
The President’s new campaign slogan will be: “Good bye God and Hello Satan” (although Obama will probably refer to Satan as Allah or Muhammahd)
“Love thine enemy” is from the Sermon on the Mount.
Matthew 5:
43Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
KJV
Oh, on reading again I realised what you were saying. How does “love thine enemy” fit into this situation? Good question actually. I have no idea.
I think that Matthew forgot the part: Love thine enemy but keep your powder dry.
Recently my father-in-law was buried at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. The service is conducted by a chaplain, for the denomination (and they are extensively covered—the denominations that is- check, see the Arlington site as to choice of headstone religious symbols allowed and provided by our govt.) The US Army operates Arlington. There is NO problem with mentioning God or any other Being. There is NO reason why they could not approve the flyover. Would they refuse, say, a Hindu American organization of veterans who might organize a large festival in celebration of Vishnu and Country? This is really foolish— whomever in the organization, keep on the media to follow up and y’all follow up also. Nuts!
You’re kidding right?
