Such allegations underscore the one-sided nature of the news that has been served up to Hondurans during the crisis. According to results of a Gallup poll published here Thursday, 41 percent of Hondurans think the ouster was justified, with 28 opposed to it.
In Honduras, though, the country's new leaders, the security forces and the clergy argue that Zelaya's removal had legal justification the rest of the world does not understand. Local media largely "slanted coverage" to favor that position, said Carlos Lauría of the New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists.
"The de facto government clearly used the security forces to restrict the news," Lauría said. "Hondurans did not know what was going on. They clearly acted to create an information vacuum to keep people unaware of what was actually happening."

What do you expect when POTUS sides with Chavez’s drug dealing partner Zelaya.
And compare it to many alternative media websites.
The Hondurans know better. Kudos to them all.
Dictators in arms!
The Washington Post...criticizing biased, slanted politically inspired journalism? The chutzpah bar has been raised!
Can you imagine the gall of the Washington Post news editor criticizing the Hondurans?
What this reporter is aleging the Honduras press did is SOP in the US. As I understand it, the the ousted leader, in trying to force through a change in the constitution to enable him to have a second term, broke the law, and was removed from office for that reason. Would that we had the guts they do!

Shamelessly stole this pic off FR yesterday ..
Its the opposite of reality, of course
This I have to bookmark for a later read as I have to get offline NOW. What little I gather from the excerpt seems sort of like the pot and kettle, as well might be indicative of a plan in formulation by the Leftist U.S. Government, and their allies in Venezueala, OAS, etc. to overthrow the legitimate Government of Honduras.
Be back later to read this in its entirety.
I guess when the truth comes out, or something good is happening, it’s 1 sided......
Idiots the MSM are. No wonder why my daily paper keeps getting smaller, and smaller and smaller...
That’s funny, because it sounds like Hondurans were the only ones who really heard the truth, while the rest of us has heard one-sided information about a “military coup”, when in fact it was just the military being used as law enforcement by the legislature and judiciary of the country.
The only people who call this a “coup” are the ousted President, and every news media outlet, and all the leftists who were trying to overthrow honduras.
Nothing like the smell of burning dictator in the morning...smells like victory....
Honduras is a tiny country. The people don’t need reporters to tell them what is going on, they can learn from friends and family in government. And they know quite a bit more than some dufus in the US who has never been there.
That’s the same news coverage we have here from the state run media, one way.
Lauria is Communist, check his background. Some of Zelaya $4 million made it to him for this puff piece...
We need to deal with the de facto regime 0bama has set up with all of his un-Constitutional Czars.
The photo gallery WaPo puts up is the most blatant propaganda imaginable. Neither Goebbels nor Stalin would have had the gall to lie that big.
