“Everybody must get stoned.”
—Bob Dylan
Sorry, SonofDarkSkies (haha, that should have been a hint!)! I'll try to do better, um - darker - um, you know. LOL! ;-)
Several years ago a bunch of us runners haphazardly mentioned (both men and women) that running (actually just exercise) was like Viagra in its "pleasure enhancement" properties. One person stumble into it with a declaration and others sort of blurted out that they had similar experiences (particularly after a long and strenuous race.
One of the athletes was a doctor and suggested that, in addition to the wonderful and vibrant aspects of exercise in general, it is possible that said experience was more "vivid" due to the fact that the brain had been deprived of oxygen (ala auto-erotic asphyxiation). In this case, he surmised, it was possible that the lack of oxygen to the brain during exercise (in which time oxygen was in short supply and demanded by blood and muscle) somehow stimulated various hormones in the same manner as flight or fright. Ergo, such heightened experience left the, er, experiencers with a powerful ability to enjoy whatever sensual activity they participated in.
Hint, hint!
Google "auto-erotic asphyxiation" and look into the chemical brain changes that occur. BTW, please overlook the perverse and bizarre aspects of auto-erotic asphyxiation and take a purely clinical approach to what occurs chemically in the brain..
Also, after many years as a runner, I took up biking (had foot problems). Found the same wonderful effects from this form of exercise as well (as regards health, fitness, longevity, and friendly relations with one's mate).
Worth the effort right there. I've not been a runner, but enjoy walking. Supposedly, similar benefits if less strongly felt.
Google "auto-erotic asphyxiation" and look into the chemical brain changes that occur.
When I was in college, one of my male classmates was found dead in his room, a victim of his own making. And so we all got a lesson in this when the school quickly gathered us together and explained to us why some found it addictive and how dangerous it could be, ie the passing out/no oxygen part.
God calls you forth...listen to Him and proceed!
Sorry about that last post...must have been temporary insanity on my part!
Wouldn't you get a kick out of enslaving those Obama voters to pay for your extra social security and medicare? They are so very caring you know!
No worries. It did raise a good point about the health effects of exercise and the benefits of increased oxygen. ;-)
I hear ya!
November 5th was the day I nearly drank myself to death.
You make a good point.
