I'm not defeated, are you? It seems as if Sarah is defeated. Which upsets me greatly.

Remember Perot? He was fooled, by political operatives, into believing some horrible thing was going to happen to his daughter, to ruin her wedding. So, he quit. He was ahead in the polls, when he quit and could have won that election. But by quitting, he ruined his chances. No one was happy with his explanations, instead all they could see was that he quit, when the times got tough.

This is what Sarah has done. As much as we like her, and think she would be best, too many will never trust her, or vote for her, because she quit. I believe she has been lied to, and convinced to quit, against her best instincts. Whoever told her to quit, was not trying to help her career. They were trying to take out their competition!

Sarah, turn around and do the right thing. Take it back. Do not quit! I do think you are right about the Presidential race. It does have to be someone more than a "regular joe". That is what we need in congress, but we need someone extra ordinary in the Presidential office.

Don't be upset. If you listen to what Sarah said, as opposed to what the talking heads are trying to say she said, you would know that she is neither defeated, nor is she quitting.

One of the quotes she used was, "We are not retreating; we are attacking from a different direction." Although that quote came from the last century, the concept is from The Art of War. She wasn't depressed; she was enthusiastic. She doesn't need to disclose all the details, and wouldn't be prudent to do so. That's sufficient for me, for now. I can't wait to see how she proceeds. That will be a few more weeks.

I understand where you’re coming from and I concur with your point of view, but I don’t think it will be a death knell for her.
I think most people recognize a hopeless battle and would hardly fault someone for taking a new approach or different angle at the same problem. With her no longer serving as Governor, the media by attacking her make themselves look petty. Not to mention the legal aspects now available to her as a civilian versus a public position. It will be much harder for them to continue with their slander/ libel against her (or at least, hopefully, more expensive...)
I expect (and accept) we probably won’t agree on this, but there are many benefits to her taking the course she did.
And 3 years is a very long time, especially when it comes to the memory and opinions of John Q. Public...

Don't fret. She's just getting ready for the next phase...
