Obama to Russia: Stop Iran and we’ll scrap missile defense in Europe
Hot Air ^ | July 09, 2009 | Evan Newmark

Many of us worried that Barack Obama would give away missile defense in Eastern Europe for nothing at all, save a photo op with Vladimir Putin and a chance to proclaim peace in our time.

After signing a meaningless warhead-reduction treaty with Putin and Dmitry Medvedev, though, Obama remained firm on missile defense. He told a graduating class from Moscow’s New Economic School that if Russia stopped Iran from building nuclear weapons, we’d rethink the need for the missile defense system:

Does this moron fancy himself a modern JFK ala Castro and the Cubam missile crisis?

There is no crisis and our deployment is an extension of our foreign policy that makes our presence ever closer to enemies while solidifying our relationship with allies.

It also acts as a deterrent real and implied of marginalizing an opponents capabilities.

What is so hard about that dumbo? The Russians aren’t going to give us anything valuable soooo FU.

This is one reason why I subscribe to Foreign Affairs magazine from the CFR. What Obama does is already spelled out by that think tank months ahead.

So we end up with Ian having nukes and ourselves mostly defenseless.

My ten year old is not that naive.

I’ll be honest, I don’t see any issues with this, even if Russian doesn’t do squat about Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

The Europeans meddled in our elections through untold amounts of illegal campaign cash rolling into barry sotero’s coffers. They rooted long and loud for his election, then told half the country how stupid we were for not voting for the liberal messiah.

I hope barry does nix the missile shield from Europe, and they are left to fend for themselves against an ever aggressive Russian foreign policy and a combative nuclear armed Iran.

They will soon find out that freedom isn’t truely free and it has to be paid for, and that freedom is no longer a product, or export of the United States, thanks to the very person they lifted high on their shoulders.

How is this “remaining firm”? Basically, Obama promises to do nothing as long as Russia does nothing. In other words, same old, same old. We sit there waiting while Russia helps Iran build their nuclear warheads.

Will Obama actually start building the missile defense in Poland if Russia does nothing? Of course not.

This amateur has no concept (or interest) of verification.

His only interest is in “check the box” agreements that pretend progress.-

First of all, let us dispense with the fiction that BHO is some sort of naive liberal bambi caught in the headlights. What utter nonsense.

BHO is a lifelong radical activist who knows exactly and precisely what he wants to accomplish. He was in Moscow for a purpose. It mattered not that BHO doesn’t give a rat’s ass about Russian culture, traditions, sensibilities, or protocal. He has something the Russians want: He cannot wait to trade away our ballistic missile defense systems.

BHO made this quite clear on the campaign trail. In a speech he said the following:

“I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems. I will not weaponize space. I will slow our development of future combat systems...I will set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal, I will not develop new nuclear weapons; I will seek a global ban on the production of fissile material and I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBMs off hair trigger alert, and achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenals.”

This is the stone cold reality of BHO. He is no fool at all. It is the people who elected him, as well as his enablers in the Congress and the MSM who are the real fools.

Now with their overwhelming majorities in Congress including a filibuster proof senate, there is nothing in the way to stop BHO’s diabolical plans to disarm our countries.

The Romans had a saying for those who would unilaterally disarm: Silent legis inter armas— All laws are silent in the presence of arms.

The Romans had another saying for countries which did not arm to protect themselves: Vae Victis—Woe to the vanquished. Indeed!

I wish he was dumb. That would be best. He is very smart, he is a man with a plan. He has already achieved many of his objectives. He has the Congress and MSM feeding out of his hand.

BHO is many things- but dumb isn’t one of them.

So let me get this straight, Putin wants to be able to launch missile’s at Europe with no interference and obama says...”Sure, go ahead, you won’t have any problem with us” ?

Good God, this man is insane.

Insane would imply he doesn’t know what he’s doing.

BHO knows exactly and precisely what he wants to do.

A good place start would be Jerome Corsi’s book, Obama Nation.

I think he had BHO figured out pretty well.

BTW, I don’t think Putin wants to launch a missile at anyone. He wants the West to disarm, that way he can dominate Eastern Europe which is of course his goal.

“A cross between Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers would be closer to the mark.”

Can’t disagree, yet both are still fine examples of DemocRats in good standing with the Party.

Good let's start with Iran.
