With the growing unrest on the massive debt that the Democratic Congress and the Democratic president have heaped on us, our children, and our grandchildren there remains talk of yet another "stimulus" package. The first package has been ineffective, the federal budget as passed is loaded with pork and earmarks, the Cap & Trade passed by Congress (with the help of 8 Republicans don't forget), the talk of nationaized health care, and now more money we don't have as a second stimulus is getting beyond believable. Yet, the best idea to stimulate the sluggish economy, which is getting more sluggish, remains the most effective one: tax cuts. If additional stimulus is needed it should solely be in putting money back into the hands of the taxpayer. The tax holiday idea and/or a massive tax cut remains the proven method.
Can’t have that!
That would take away from “social justice”.

It won’t happen for two reasons. First, it will actually stimulate the economy and get us on the road to recovery and that is the last thing Zero wants. Second, there is little opportunity for the Congress critters to get their greedy little paws on the money.
Reparations for AA citizens would be more likely than tax cuts for the wealthy.

The idea that we can keep allowing government to expand or even remain at its current intrusive level while we cut taxes in insane. There was a time when conservative meant opposing big government. Rolling back big government. Now all it means is cutting taxes while government continues to control every facet of our lives. And somehow reducing taxes will fix everything. While all it is is a sop to mollify us saps so the pols can continue their power grab.
Government is force and a consuming fire. It is a destroyer of wealth. We will never have sustainable prosperity until gov is cut back. Way back.
Someone on Fox yesterday said since the income tax revenues are about $3T and the stimulus is about $3T, how about just stopping all income taxes for a year and watch THAT stimulate the economy on a grand scale?
Now THAT’s a simulous I could get behind and that would WORK!

We’ll that’s not going to happen because whatever Bush did Obama has to make sure it’s the oposite.
