Southern food is vastly better + it’s hot & humid outside.
Lived in GA for 24 yrs and gained weight. The cooking is not as pure—has lots of additions like eggs, mayo, sour cream, butter, lard, sauces. Good food—tasty. Hard to go back to baked item, rice and fresh veggies-—healthier though. Lost the weight. Paula Deen exemplifies this southern cooking. Her new hubby is on Jenny Craig!
Southern food is the best. There is nothing like home grown tomatoes, boiled okra, turnip greens, black eyed peas and cornbread. We love our fried chicken, catfish and chicken fried steak. We invented TEX MEX that Northerners have recently discovered.
What do Northerners eat? Beats me. If y’all come down here I will treat you to a TEXAS green bean (jalepeno pepper).
