I went to Chicago when our son was in the navy. Loved Navy Pier! We walked all over the city. Son would take the metro from Great Lakes Naval base to Chicago at least once a week.

Where in Chicago are you? I've been there a few times on business and really liked the city and it's neighborhoods. Sears Tower was cool but I wouldn't step out on those glass balconies!
There was a restaurant in the "wing" building on Whacker drive I worked in. Vie De France IIRC.
THe loop was cool but I don't know what it's like now. Never got to go to the north side and the blues joints...sigh.
Oh, and the closing of Miegs Field was tragic. I loved that place!

Opera is cool. Did you get the new release that lets you use your desktop as a server? I've been wondering about that.

Geez, I’m in the far north of Chicago almost in Evanston.
I worked downtown for over twelve years in the Predential Building.

Da Mayor got rid of Miegs Field in the middle of the night,
what a JERK!
Chicago’s motto is “The city that works.” the mayor has single handedly changed it to “The City of Jerks!
