As Democrats Arlen Specter and Joe Sestak dig in for a Senate primary that will likely pit power brokers against liberal activists, Republican Pat Toomey has 16 months to sharpen his message of fiscal conservatism for the November 2010 general election.
Toomey, the ex-president of the anti-tax Club for Growth, who nearly unseated Specter in the 2004 Republican primary and whose renewed challenge this year forced the longtime senator to join the Democrats is collecting endorsements from GOP leaders and elected officials around the state

Gop has leaders?
If Sarah Palin picks Toomey as her running mate, then he may get my support, otherwise I pass.
What the hell is that supposed to mean?
You go to war with the Army you got. Back him with the arsenal of what the libotards are doing in congress and throw the whole book at em. THIS is the problem with the GOP now a days. They refuse to support the soldiers out there who are willing to take the knocks to MAKE CHANGE HAPPEN. This is so FRUSTRATING!
Since you live in Florida and Toomey and I live in Pennsylvania, I don't think either of us will worry too much about your lack of support.
Who do you support in the Pennsylvania Senate race?

GOP leaders? Where?
I misread! Don’t kill me pls. >,>
I’m in Michigan but I did vote for Shane Victorino tonight.
your alright in my book !
This is precisely one of the reasons I’m not going to send money to the RNC. Only to individual candidates.
Toomey can win. He was a congressman from a heavily democrat district.
What with the way the fedgov has spun out of control, a guy like Toomey is going to appeal to a lot of voters.
Maybe even the union thugs who crossed parties to support Sphinkter the last time the two went at it.
If the rinos in the pa GOP don’t get behind this guy, there will be hell to pay.
And no Tommy Ridge rinos need apply.
My sediments exactly!
These same GOP leaders were backing Spectre.
Thats how smart they are.
yep. He would have have the nomination last time around but for the backing of Specter. I think he’s VERY electable. Specter is done, Sestak didn’t read anything he signed, including the stimulkus and cap and tax bill. That should be enough to defeat them easily. I’m looking to see who is a viable candidate for the 7th distric when Sestak vacated to run against Specter.
The GOP ‘leaders’ are @$$holes.
>> Gop has leaders?
Certainly not conservative poseur Senator John Cornyn.
As Senatorial Committee Chairman, he *could* help Toomey if he chose to.
But he won’t, because he’s not a conservative, let alone a leader.
THE NRSC deserves to have its ass kicked.
