In TX, Perry Crows about Palin's endorsement (that was quick, Kay!)
Politics Daily ^ | July 8 09 | Matt Lewis

...Palin's nod is indeed an asset for Perry, helping him cement his appeal to social conservatives in the Lone Star State. But his boast also may be intended as a dig at his Republican opponent, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison -- who herself was a potential 2008 veep choice before Palin got the job. Hutchison is said by some to still be miffed at having been eclipsed by a female governor with much less experience.....

Why does Kay want to leave DC and the Senate to be gov? Speculation--she's got big money from the lawyers to try to knock Perry out of office. Would like to hear from Texans who might know if this is the case

Not sure that is the case, but most of us don’t like her. I like Palin much better and made me actually excited about that ticket. Which I’m sure was the reason McCain tapped her. Well, not just because of me, but you get the idea. HAHAHA.

Kay is a rino who would side with kennedy at the drop of a hat... she needs to be retired like yesterday.

KBH doesn’t stand a chance, especially since she opened up lawsuits over the fence. Gov. Good-hair isn’t the greatest but if it came down to those two, he’d get my vote.

Why is she wanting to run? Because she’s looking at a WH run soon.

Yep.........though Perry is no prize, I’d vote for him over Kay.......she can’t be trusted. Her “moderate’ (code name for liberal) does tend to show itself from time to time.

If anyone has a lead to how much she’s getting from trial lawyers, let me know. They’ve got to be fit to be tied with Perry.

Maybe because she’s an old woman with two very young children to raise and the perks and schedule are better for governors, and cost of living is better in TX.

It has been talked about for a few years now. She has indicated she wanted to come back home and raise her two children in Texas. She was talking about running against Perry in 06 but was talked out of it or so the story goes.

Both Perry and KBH have been involved in Texas politics for a lot of their life.

Perry....
1984 .. elected to the state house as a democrat [backed Al Gore, 1988]
1990.. elected Agriculture Commissioner
1998.. elected lieutenant governor
2000.. assumed Governorship when Bush resigned in Dec.
2002-2006 reelected governor.

Hutchison
1972-76 ... state house
1982.. lost GOP primary for 3rd US Congressional District TX
1990.. elected State Treasure
1993.. won special election to fill US Senate seat
1994-2000-2006.. reelected Senator

2006 state election
Perry... governor with 39.02% vote
Hutchison.. Senator with 61.7% vote

Kay, Sarah has more executive branch experience than you and the Big O combined.
