You are making a rather broad assumption, but nevertheless, I presume they “rented it out” to the day camp organization for use one day a week for a set period of time (which is unknown to me).

Call it what you will, they did what they did, and I would guess, with knowledge up front with whom they were dealing.

You are making a rather broad assumption

Not at all. According to the article, it is clear that members of the club were there when these kids were. If the pool had been rented out exclusively to this day camp, then no members would have been there. It is you that is making a broad assumption with absolutely no facts to back it up.

. . .and I would guess, with knowledge up front with whom they were dealing.

The PRIVATE club knew they were dealing with a day camp. There seems to be some indication that there were many more children than the club expected. Of course, this article doesn't address anything except the supposed racism of the club and it's members, but I suspect the problems arose not because of racism, but because of the lousy behavior of too many kids.

Plainly put, this is a PRIVATE club. They do not have to allow anyone they do not wish to allow. I'm quite sure there are other pool options for these day camp kids.
