Italian foreign ministry spokesman Maurizio Massari talks about his expectations
Leaders of the G8 leading industrial countries have agreed to try to limit global warming to just 2C (3.6F) above pre-industrial levels by 2050. The summit, in the earthquake-hit Italian city of L'Aquila, also agreed tough new carbon emissions cuts. It says developed nations should cut carbon emissions by 80% by 2050, with the rest of the world making a 50% reduction by the same date. Analysts say there is no indication of how the targets, or costs, will be met. The summit agenda is also expected to include food security, North Korea and Iran. UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown said he was confident that other non-G8 countries would back the commitments when climate change was discussed on Thursday under the chairmanship of US President Barack Obama. |

G-8 Nations Fail to Agree on Climate Change Plan (China India rebel against emissions)
The more you hear...the more Global Warming sounds like Free Trade. The same people who are Global Warmists are also Free Traders....they all have meetings together....with the same Globalist groups involved.
Should call the latest scam “Cap And Free Trade”. Both very detrimental to the US economy....and both supported by the same groups of people
“Leaders of the G8 leading industrial countries have agreed to try to limit global warming to just 2C (3.6F) above pre-industrial levels by 2050.”
B S !!!! None of them will do anything.
Free trade is international capitalism.
Cap and trade is international governmental dictatorial control over almost every aspect of our economic lives in the name of a phony environmental issue.
But in case that’s too theoretical for you, let’s look at your statement that the same people support both.
It is just so not true, it is all I can do to keep from laughing.
Many blue collar Dems from upper midwestern states heavily dependent on coal fired plants are protectionists not free traders, but are unalterably opposed to cap and trade.
Many conservatives such as Rush Limbaugh and self-identified Reagan conservatives are free traders but unalterably opposed to cap and trade.
George W Bush had some kind of voluntary idea on the emissions issue but no cap and trade. He is for free trade. He kept repeating that whatever was done on emissions must not hurt the economy.
Dick Cheney is a free trader and even more strongly against cap and trade than W (although as I said he opposes it).
Pat Buchanan is a protectionist but totally against cap and trade.
If they think that ‘global warming’ causes death and famine,
just wait until they see what ‘global COOLING’ does.
Since 1978 the trend, worst case, is 1.3C/century and we’ve done nothing; should be easy to meet 2C/century barring new natural forces.
Yep
