There seems to have been a change in the mood of the electorate lately as it relates to United States President Barack Obama. This has become increasingly evident as more and more of the intrusive nature of the Obama administrations plans for controlling climate change, the very nature of the health care relationship between patients and their providers and the de facto nationalization of the countrys major automobile producers (Ford Motor Company is the lone holdout, at present) continues at breakneck speeds in the Congress and at the White House.
Truly, we feel were witnessing a reordering of the manner and means in which Americas government interacts with its citizens the people for whom the government seems to profess only nominal allegiance, currently on a scale unprecedented since the Great Depression and Franklin Roosevelts New Deal series of programs and government interventionism.
Whats so concerning about this New Foundation (as the Obama administration seems to be calling what its attempting to do to the citizenry of the U.S.) is that a growing consensus of economic historians has been coming to the conclusion lately that much of the New Deal served to accomplish only one thing.
What the not-so-great New Deal seemed most of all to do back then was prolong the pernicious anemia expressed in the form of the Great Depression that infected much of Americas economy in the decade leading up to World War II. Why then, the rush by Barack Obama and the Democrat-dominated Congress to replicate much of the same failed policies of the 1930s?

What is it “they” say? “Be careful what you ask for....”
Not that most here at FreeRepublic asked for this, but SOMEBODY sure as hell did.
That's easy - they want to bring back the economic collapse of the 1930s.
No one wants to live in an Obamaville?
Not even 0bama.
(Especially not 0bama)
Well, here we are. It's been a year and hindsight has now kicked in. I don't know if those who insisted on their way or no way had enough of an effect to affect the outcome of the election, but one thing's for sure. Obama won and there are precious few on the conservative side who feel we would be worse off if the weakest of the GOP contenders had made it on the ballot.
Saddest of all is that the, contrary to the conventional wisdom at the time, those who followed that course did not succeed in teaching the GOP a lesson.
“New Foundation” my you know what. They are flipping words; a favorite pastime of Alinksy.
........ chirp, chirp, chirp....... were they trolls or did they go into embarassed hiding? Some had very old signup dates.
Remember back during the campaign when Michelle said, among other things, "Barack Obama will require you to work?" She meant YOU and me, not her. They eat Wegyu beef, fly in chefs and food from all over the world, and she's the new fashion icon for the court hangers-on.
Correct. It is my opinion that the current "leadership" of the GOP is too corrupt to learn ANYTHING.
Sadly, lacking a really high-powered, properly funded and run campaign in the few days and weeks before election we will not live to see the bastards sent packing. Time was they would tar and feather them and ride them out of town on a rail. I'm not so sure I wouldn't vote for that myself at this point.
There was a time when I felt a good ol’ fashioned depression would unseat the majority of them. No longer. I fear even that would not put enough sense into the heads of most voters to make them turn on those who have proffered the sow’s teat for so long. But that's an udder story.
