I have no problem with coal plants, but I was a little alarmed that they wanted to build so many in such a limited area.

They wanted to build something like 6 plants or something in a circle around waco, needless to say that didn’t go over too well with the locals.

Is Perry Pro-life? KBH certainly is not.

And that makes it OK to devalue life and act like a LIB?

"I do not know one Republican who will vote for Perry over Kaye Bailey, who is much loved and respected."

You might be right as I no longer consider myself a Republican, and certainly will not vote for KBH.

I’m in a coop so I’m tied to their rates. Natgas prices have dropped dramatically (I think they’re now down around $3.50/mcf) but I’m still right at 13 cents which is down over a penny from what it was.

BTW the info I was looking at showed tha average Texas rate at 10.73 cents and the nationwide average at 9.83 cents. That number however is across all sectors, residential commercial and industrial.

So you don’t mind paying higher taxes then???

I'm going to have to help pay for the highways one way or the other anyway. So paying gas or highway taxes/tolls to the state is better than handing the money to some foreign company. At least that way the money stays within our own economy.

When you said central Texas I assumed that was a larger area.

So are they definitely going to build these 6 or so new plants with the only question being how they’ll be fired?

This was put out by rickperry.org. What would you expect them to say? Didn't he call for secession?

To be honest who cares where the profits go.... To care in where the profits go is kinda thinking like a socialist.. There is no law in the books that says profits have to stay here..

I have decided to vote for whomever supports Texas secession.

That would have been looked at as a moonbat comment not too very long ago. Note tag.

I suspect that the Waco area got a lot of interest due to the lignite around the area. I know you see a lot of surface mining along FM 164 out of Buffalo towards Waco.

No the locals threw a fit and the whole thing got shelved. It was the # in such an limited area that was the issue. If they had just wanted to build one or even two I dont think it would of been an issue.

It makes a big difference to me if the roads aren't maintained properly. And if the state bureaucrats can't manage employees under their direct control, then there's no way they can be entrusted to enforce terms of a 75-year-lease with some foreign company that just wants to grab the toll revenue and stuff it into their own pocket.
