Three people are dead after an apparent double murder-suicide in Preston County.

Investigators say 50-year-old Charles Wise Junior, 51-year-old Kathy Wise, and 71-year-old Imogene Shaffer were found dead early Tuesday at a house on Schumaker Road. Gunshot wounds were found on all of the bodies, but police are waiting on autopsy results.

Wise, Junior was inside the house, while the women were found outside. He was married to Wise, while Shaffer was her mother. Police think Wise, Junior killed the women before killing himself. A note was found somewhere other than the house, which leading police to investigate it as a double murder-suicide.

The Wises were supposed to be in court Monday for a divorce hearing, but didn't show up. Wise, Junior has been charged with domestic violence before. He was currently free on bond for violating a protective order filed by his wife. Police did find a gun at the house.

Poor woman, the system obviously didn't protect her.

The system never protects you. That is your responsibility.

By the way, I have spent a lot of time in WV, and I can’t place Preston county. Is it near Beckley or anywhere close? Just curious.-—JM

She should've had a gun because protective orders are not bulletproof.

The unenforceable restraining order claims more victims, yet again.

For some reason, it’s always a surprise to the judge.

It's just East of Morgantown on the Southern Pennsylvania/Western Maryland border.

Mrs. Wise would have been better served with her own gun rather than depending on a restraining order from the court. Police can’t protect you. All they can do is draw chalk lines around your body.

Police did find a gun at the house.

And was there an SUV lurking out at the privy?

See there!! If only there had been more gun control legislation, they would have had a happy marriage, brilliant children, lots of money...

Gunshot wounds were found on all of the bodies, but police are waiting on autopsy results.

Then it will take two weeks to find someone that can read the reports and maybe then they will know the cause of death.

West Virginia, if the tooth brush had been invented somewheres else it would have been called a teeth brush. LOL

"somewheres else"

When poking fun at ignorance, it's best to try to sound smart.

They should start printing those protective orders on Kevlar.
