The U.S. State Department said on Tuesday it will grant asylum to 1,350 Arabs in Iraq who claim to have the right to live in Israel based on ancestry. The unprecedented numbers to be allowed to resettle in the United States may anger Israel, the Christian Science Monitor (CSM) reported.

Most of them lived well in Iraq under former dictator Saddam Hussein but then were thrown out of their homes after his downfall.

Something terribly WRONG about the premise.

Why would Israel care where those prospective terrorists lived as long as it isn’t Israel.

WE ARE THE ONES WHO SHOULD BE ANGRY, NO, FURIOUS.

I don’t think it affects Israel in terms of the US accepting them per se, it’s the claim on which the US has based their acceptance. That being, they actually have a Right of Retrun to Israel...which, of course, is ridiculous.

Also, it has got to sting a bit considering that during WWII, the US sent Jews fleeing the Holocaust BACK to Germany.

I’d like to know why they were living “so well” under Saddam, and if that is true, doesn’t it suggest they would be anti-US? So what is the REAL reason they are being brought here? It can’t be the one they are giving.

"Right of Return" is something that our government if in full support of, as can be seen through the refusal to secure our own southern border, so why wouldn't they support the same for Israel... Those in our own government support the Mexican annexation of Texas and the rest of the southwestern states.

Remember Saddam was paying the families of suicide bombers who murdered Israeli citizens. Maybe these are the same families he brought to Iraq for their protection.

I suppose we should be happy it's not 13,500. Or the 300,000 thrown out of Kuwait. Or the 10s of thousands Jordan is throwing out.

Yes. And since they're "palestinians", they went to Iraq from the West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Syria or Lebanon. And apparently aren't welcome where they came from, likely an indication of potential problems.

Add this group (who no Arab country wants, wonder why?) to the Somalis who we have welcomed in droves, and call them the jihadi among us.

Add THEM to the jihadis that are already here and the actual number would astound you. Most are illegal and more of the reason I was so dead set against the amnesty bill than the Mexicans. They are in all fifty (seven)/sarcasm states and being much more assertive now than they have ever been.

Beware this “president.” I cannot say it often enough or more urgently.

They’re just Saddamis. Like most Palestinians are. That’s why they are not wanted in Iraq. They’re not drug addicted scumbags like the Leb or Jordanian Palestinians, they are generally educated types who took good jobs under Saddam’s wing & aroused the jealousy & anger of other Iraqis.

I don’t understand the reason for such international concern for their well being. They could easily be found another spot in Iraq where they’d be left alone.

Ha, by the time Saddam’s payments filtered through all the Palestinian middlemen taking their cuts, there was maybe enough left for the family to replace their windows.
