As someone who lives near the area, Tim Walberg has nobody to blame but himself for losing what should have been an easy victory. The district is very conservative. He started acting odd and making bizarre statements during his term and many people-even conservatives, just didn't like the guy. Schauer is a friendly likeable guy who out campaigned and out-hussled walberg. The only good thing about this is the seat should go back to a better GOP candidate in 2010 who could keep the seat a long time. This race was a prime example to never take your constituents for granted and assume you have a victory in the bag due to it being a solid conservative area. These are not rubber stamp voters to their credit.

Care to be more specific as to his “odd and bizarre” statements?
I was in his Jackson office many times working for the campaign.
