I'm sorry that I sicken you. I find the blind adulation, and the contortionist-like attempts by some to imbue all of Palin’s actions with inherent moral superiority and tactical brilliance, or to invent excuses for her behavior, to be a kind of sad self-delusion that is increasingly akin to the Obamania that has swept this country. Governor Palin seems like a decent person, and I wish her well, but if quitting is a virtue, then I fear the priorities that you have set for this civilized society. Keeping her commitment to the people of Alaska, triumphing over her critics and enemies, while maintaining her family would have been the right message and the right strategy. By resigning, she's done nothing but demonstrate weakness to the Left who (successfully) sought to destroy her. If she wants to be a private citizen again, fine, but let's not hail this as some triumph of conservative leadership. It isn't.
