WASHINGTON - The nations largest insurers, hospitals, and medical groups have hired more than 350 former government staff members and retired members of Congress in hopes of influencing their old bosses and colleagues, according to an analysis of lobbying disclosures and other records.
The tactic is so widespread that three of every four major healthcare firms have at least one former insider on their lobbying payrolls, according to The Washington Posts analysis.

Our nation’s health would be far better if that money was spent on medicine instead. However, in the age of Obamacare, health care will be decided by political pull rather than doctors’ medical decisions.
Shoot, our mega hospital organization hired a Diversity Executive about 2 years ago. They could’ve added 4-5 bedside nurses for what they are paying her.
