Aren't birth certificates public records? Used to be, but not any more. Supposedly because of "Identity Theft" issues.
It's becoming obvious that in the quest for "privacy" and to prevent identiy theft, we've created the potential for for people to assume false identities can't be disproven, at least absent the intervention of a court.
