Exactly - this (along with protecting her family from further abuse) is one of these most important reasons for resignation. Gov Palin is not one to watch funds and talent needlessly drain away to deal with ginned-up claims from mean-spirited individuals. Another 18 or so months of that would have cost Alaskan's quite a bit more. (I'm guessing she had no ethics claims to fight prior to being tapped for VP, so they are clearly a result of political motivations by a few ugly leftists.)
