Republican gubernatorial candidate Chris Christie is laying out a plan that you might expect from a Democrat.
He wants New Jersey to produce more renewable electricity, along with jobs manufacturing wind turbines and solar panels.
He says in a campaign video posted online Monday that New Jersey energy policy has not gone green enough under Gov. Jon Corzine.
Christie says his ideas are in line with President Barack Obama's on this issue.

Unfortunately, too many NJ Republicans are the socially liberal country club kind or the Kathleen Parker variety who want ot be loved by the left so that's what win's primaries and elections here. It's no mistake that 3 of the 8 Republicans who voted for Cap and Tax were from NJ.

This guy was falling all over himself to tell Jersey voters how conservative he was in the primaries. I received flyers in the mail everyday telling me the true conservative in the primary race was Christie. Obviously, he lied.

Really, really stupid to mention non-starters like wind and solar when NJ has four nuclear units (Oyster Creek, Hope Creek, and Salem 1 and 2) that together produce also produce about 50% of the state's electricity. That is the state's true “green gold”. Nuclear is the greenest energy source around, and NJ has it. If they were smart, they'd go for more of that. High-paying, skilled jobs, plus affordable, clean energy. Nuclear is win-win-win for NJ, but these diaper bags don't have the political or moral courage to say it.

Of course he is. I knew it as soon as he started talking about how our poor little illegal invaders aren't criminals...

They already have.

Let's put aside the green-propaganda for a moment. And let's say it's a great idea to produce more renewable electricity, along with jobs manufacturing wind turbines and solar panels.
Why in he11 would any businessman with a brain elect to do business in NJ?.

A combination of a very unpopular democratic incumbent, plus running a very moderate candidate might be the only way a Repub can get elected in NJ. Whitman was a liberal/moderate who beat Jim Florio, probably the most unpopular governor in NJ history, in 1993. I supported Brett Shundler in 2001, a real conservative, but he got trounced by McGreevey. NJ is a very liberal State.

Sure, we can blame the RINO, but don’t let the people of New Jersey completely off the hook.
As is the case in California, there are some things politicians HAVE to say and do in order to be competitive. They must mouth the right platitudes and bow to the PC gods. That is what wins the most votes in NJ.
Cristie, in large part, is only telling the people of this state what they already “know” and what they want to hear. A real conservative would have a hard time in New Jersey — think about what that says about the electorate there.
