Don’t feel bad. I have a problem taking photos of people. I can get objects and animals but people don’t seem to cooperate.
A friend taught me if you want to take photos of just guns, use a grey or blue background. Any reds, oranges or yellow turn up as rust. Also wait for indirect lighting and watch out for the reflections.

You should have heard the complaints about the mosquitos once the smoke died down.
