I don’t have a problem with either the blue-and-white flowered dress or the coral one . . . at home in DC, doing some daytime casual entertaining. Go to a foreign country representing your own nation, and you should wear something resembling business attire, at least something simple and elegant. And if you have or are developing a weight problem, there’s nothing wrong with wearing an Empire-waist dress, but do resume the workouts you’re famous for and display some self-control at the dinner table.
