Yes, OK, but even if he was legally exonerated, this media circus about his life is just a bit over the top. He was a good singer, an excellent dancer, and a very talented all-round musical entertainer. There’s nothing dishonorable with any of those things, but they don’t warrant all this adulation either. He was also a very troubled person cursed with a lousy childhood. He never completely came to terms with himself, or with life in general. He’s not what I would call a hero. Not like a major scientist or philosopher. Or the GI’s storming Halmand province, or the firefighters and medics who save lives on a daily basis. This culture has its priorities upside down.
