Poll: Will business directly benefit from economic stimulus?
Orange County Register ^ | 7/5/2009 | Jan Norman

Posted on 07/05/2009 9:22:00 PM PDT by South40

Few small-business owners think the federal economic stimulus will help their companies, according to a survey by Intuit Inc., creator of QuickBooks and other software that manages finances.

In addition, 98% have not received any money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and 86% doubt the $787 billion government spending and incentive plan will directly benefit their businesses.

What do you think?

The stimulus bill was nothing more than the “CreeCreep!” The Campaign to re-elect the Creep.

In Year one less than 5% of the 787 Billion is being spent. I’d bet that the spending plan leans heavily on spending in years 2 and 4, both election years. Year 2 is the mid-term election. Year 4, of course, is when Obama wants to change his name to O Always. And because of the lack of checks and balances, you and I are paying for all this crap!!!

Um, no.

My family co-owns a small business. Our concern before the election was who would have to be let go if Obama were to win. Things are tense around there.

I own a business and have since 1979. Hussein’s spending plan has not benefitted me or my employees in the slightest. I’ve gone from 75 employees to just under 50, and that was in Zero’s first 100 days. Who knows what the future holds.

Nothing Osama or his sidekick Mohammad Jar Biden has done includes any help for any small business in the “stimulus” packages. Nor does it do anything to encourage entrepreneurs to jump start a small business.

Payoffs and kickbacks going to the unions and union dominated businesses is what it is doing.

Here in Orlando the local rags were all atwitter over the fact the “stimulus” was saving several hundred teaching jobs. I'm sure the NEA was pleased but what will happen next year?

No one will benefit.

We’ll experience a real 1930’s grey Christmas.

My wife is knitting me a scarf and I am making her a cutting board out of oak scraps.

52% of our electorate deserve the spanking. The rest of us will pay too.

Maybe. If you are a minority business with some sort of government contract.

I am a minority business and I regularly contract with the state of California and various local municipalities. Yet it has not helped me.

That can definitely be a problem when the govt. has no money. (Unless you want to get paid with IOU’s.)
