Lefty Elites Think They're Immune from the Havoc of Their Policies

RUSH: Our official climatologist here, Dr. Roy Spencer, University of Alabama at Huntsville sent me a question after hearing my last dissertation: "Equality of outcomes. How can a senator or congressman, for example -- after working to achieve their station in life, how can a senator or congressman -- then argue that everybody else needs to be the same?" Now, Snerdley, you're acting in there like, "Yeah, right." What do you mean, "Yeah, right"? Do you think it's a good question? It is a good question. Do you know the answer? The answer is relatively simple. Do you know what the answer to it is? (interruption) That's true. That's why I'm the host. Members of Congress -- senators, presidents, members of the House -- consider themselves, particularly the Democrat liberals, as the elites. They always establish different sets of rules for themselves. Like Obama can go anywhere he wants in his airplane -- and he can put his wife on a second airplane to go shopping, and can take ten or 12 SUVs for her while she goes shopping in Paris with the daughters -- while Obama has to get back.

They can throw a luau for 2,000 people in the White House while he tells us that the days where we can eat what we want and drive where we want and drive our SUVs and keep our thermostats at 72 degrees are over. I mean, the rest of the world is not going to put up with that. The elites always -- and, by the way, have you seen... We haven't talked about it but there's a story out of all the travel members of Congress are taking during this recess, the Fourth of July. I mean, they're all over the place, all over the world on supposed business junkets. It's just vacation time where they meet with "defense experts" in some country or some company somewhere and they chalk it up to official business. It's all on the taxpayer dime. When liberals talk about "equality of outcomes," it's for everybody else, not them. Now, I'm talking about liberal leaders and so forth -- and even amongst rank-and-file liberals they still think if their leader accomplishes everything they want, somehow they're going to be better off as a result.

Look, folks, I have given up trying to rationally explain liberalism, because I don't think it can be. It's like I asked the question the other day (we need to start really delving into this): Is liberalism something that is chosen or is it something you're born with? Conservatism is not something you're born with. Conservatism is an active intellectual pursuit. Liberalism, there's nothing intellectual about it. It's all emotional. It's all feeling. It's all grievance and victimization. I can't answer if it's chosen or if you're born with it, but we need to find the answer. But trying to rationally explain it is a waste of time. BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Ronnie in Lexington, Virginia, hi. You're next on the EIB Network. Hello.

CALLER: Thank you for taking my call, Rush.

RUSH: Yes.

CALLER: I don't think President Obama cares about anyone, and the reason I say that is because of how his aunt lived in Boston and his half-brother lives in Kenya. That just indicates that to me. Now, if you look at Congress, look at the American-Indian, government-run health care program that they administer and the veterans hospitals. Congress knows what kind of mess they're going to make of this thing. That's why they're being sure to keep their health coverage separate. It's not national health care that the president's after. It's controlling pay for doctors, hospital administrators, CEOs, and insurance agents of insurance companies, and that's what I think that the bottom line is.

RUSH: Well, I think you're right. I've said this in my own way for many years. Liberalism is a series of myths, and people believe these myths about liberals. One of the big myths that people believe is that liberals have genuine compassion for people; that liberals are the ones that care about the downtrodden, the poor and so forth. When you examine it, though, liberals have contempt for people. They'll look at people and suffering and they'll blame everybody else for it. They won't do anything to solve it. Homelessness. Their solution is to buy the homeless shopping carts. That's really compassionate, isn't it? We want to end homelessness. We don't think it's right that Americans should be homeless, not the way these people are. It's not what we want to support. The liberals will use their existence to advance their agenda.

Compassion? Understanding?

These are the most hateful, angry, enraged people you can find!

Obama lives on the myth that he cares about people. While he is practicing all this "compassion," 600,000 people a month are losing their jobs. Now, where's the compassion?

"Well, Rush, he's giving them unemployment compensation."

Oh, yeah, that's really cool. Yeah. That's a subsistence!

"Well, Obama's trying to make sure that they stay in their homes."

Yeah? How's that working out?

Liberalism is a series of myths. This notion of caring about people? They talk a good game, and it's fooled a lot of people. The genuine compassion in this society is held by conservatives who want the absolute best for everybody but understand that that's only achievable if people embark upon the quest themselves. We realize there's going to be disparities, differences in outcome along the way. But it is the differences that provide the inspiration. It's the differences that provide the motivation for others to try to equal it and so forth. It all worked. It's worked marvelously and brilliantly, better than anywhere else in the world. There's no need to remake it, and there's no need to tear it apart. No need to tear it down. It just needs to be promoted. The whole concept of America needs to be defended and celebrated, whichever you wish to call it.

And most amazing of all? The lib/dems actually think Obama is good for them; would never use them for his ends and; would never turn on them.

Gee, who would have guessed it but our BETTERS — the so-called political elites who are running things (slap into the ground) in the country — HAVE EXEMPTED THEMSELVES from the “UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE” they have planned for us PEONS and PEASANTS. They — and their millions of bureaucratic minions — have a VASTLY SUPERIOR healthcare plan.

HEY — The term is UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE. That means it covers the universe, i.e., the ENTIRE POPULATION. EVERYONE is covered by the SAME RULES and NOBODY is LEFT OUT!

If that IS what the Democrat political elites REALLY WANT, here’s the deal:

NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

No members of Congress or ANYONE in the White House running off to Walter Reed or Bethesda for that nasty ingrown toenail, hacking cough and spitting up blood. Take a number and wait in the same line the rest of us are.

That goes for your congressional and White House children and other family members! GET IN LINE!!! That REALLY LONG ONE that ends on the other street.

And if your UNIVERSAL RULES dictate that some life-saving treatment would be too expensive or not be cost-effective for you older members, here’s a twenty (the cost of a phone call once the TARP “money” hits the system) – call someone who cares.

Oh yeah – forgot the best part: If ANY of you are found to be availing yourselves of what idiot representative Fortney “Pete” Stark (as in “raving mad) from (where else) KAHLIFONIA once called “Boutique Medicine” (cute, huh?) by bypassing the universal system, not getting that needed treatment will be the least of your problems.

Use some of those free cell phone long distance minutes and call the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and give YOUR congresscritter a piece of your mind while it’s still legal to do so.

And if you’re one of those NPR listeners who thinks “congress is pissing away our grandkids’ legacy (BTW, it;s already GONE!), doesn’t listen to us, wastes our “money,” refuses to close the borders, deport the illegals, etc., etc., ad nauseum — BUT MY CRITTER’S ONE OF THE GOOD GUYS” — check him out at http://www.gradegov.com/. Be sure you’re sitting down.

Stay strong and remember, WE SURROUND THEM! Let’s start acting like it!!

And why did Mr. Harvard grad let his mom go without health insurance?

Boy are they going to be surprised. No matter which way the "revolution" turns out. If we do go into that dark night, they will be the first to be stood against a wall and shot, by their own side. Ask the SA it's leadership about the "Night of the Long Knives". Even barring the firing squad, they'll be among the first to have their assets and property confiscated for the greater good.

OTOH, if the Leftist coup goes poorly, they'll have to answer for their sins, but probably not in nearly such a final manner.
