Ousted President Manuel Zelaya says he can't land at the main Honduras airport because soldiers are blocking the runway with several military vehicles.
The pilot of his Venezuelan plane circled around the airport and decided that landing is "totally impossible" because of the trucks in the way.
Groups of police and soldiers also are stationed around the runway and the perimeter of the airfield, facing off against thousands of Zelaya supporters outside.
Zelaya says he'll announce later where they'll land. A crew of the Venezuelan network Telesur is on the plane. He told them Sunday that the pilots won't risk a crash, and vowed to try again on Monday or Tuesday.

Over Macho Grande?
Saaay...I think I go to Taco Bell!
Even if the trucks weren’t there, I wouldn’t want to land... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_z5HtME9n8
LOL, Viva Honduras
Hasn’t this dumbass Zelaya ever heard of a parachute? That would give Hugo’s Telesur network some awesome footage. Film at 11!
Wondering if its better to let the slime land, then arrest. Otherwise, the “door” is open to be smuggled in via boat or donkey into his [foreign] supporters hands.

Allow him to land than execute him.
Problem solved.
Is that the INTERNATIONAL airport of Tegucigalpa? Wow, lot’s of huts and shacks with no roads on 180 degrees of that shot that panned the hillside....it must be a POOR country indeed.
If this is the same airport as the one I just looked up (in ROATAN, Honduras), its ONLY 7350 feet. No problemo for us little guys, but would be a nail biter for many jets.
The government handled this almost flawlessly today, using the minimal amount of force necessary to protect lives and assets. As a result, they live to fight another day.
“Who could have figured it would come to this. It’ll be twenty years this week that I lost my entire squadron over Macho Grande. Planes, too.”
Witness: Striker was the squadron leader. He brought us in real low. But he couldn’t handle it.
Prosecutor: Buddy couldn’t handle it. Was Buddy one of your crew?
Witness: Right. Buddy was the bombardier. But it was Striker who couldn’t handle it, and he went to pieces.
Procesutor: Andy went to pieces?
Witness: No. Andy was the navigator. He was all right. Buddy went to pieces. It was awful how he came unglued.
Prosecutor: Howie came unglued?
Witness: Oh, no. Howie was a rock, the best tailgunner in the outfit. Buddy came unglued.
Prosecutor: And he bailed out?
Witness: No. Andy hung tough. Buddy bailed out. How he survived, it was a miracle.
Prosecutor: Then Howie survived?
Witness: No, ‘fraid not. We lost Howie the next day.
Prosecutor: Over Macho Grande?
Witness: No. I don’t think I’ll ever get over Macho Grande.
When Zelaya says he's going to 'hit the silk' - we're talking pajamas
.
The bad part for Zelaya is that his luggage went to Miami
Plane lands, troops take him execute him and deny he was ever on the plane that landed.
Ah.....the old Nino Aquino treatment!
He should just sneak over the southern border. Works for our illegals here....why mess with success? He should just make sure to wear his Che Guevara tee shirt!
