Is this it? “Nasty People: How to Stop Being Hurt by Them Without Stooping to Their Level,” by Jay Carter.

I read a few sample pages on Google Books, and it looks interesting. I have to deal with a very nasty person on an unavoidable ongoing basis, and this book sure looks like it would help.

Those are the books, LB. I have probably bought a couple of dozens through the years. “Loan” them to people, they pass them on before returning and I never see them again. Have had various comments from: “it saved our marriage” to “it made tolerating my job/MIL/boss/neighbor possible”.

We all invalidate: I unintentionally invalidated Lauren and others) when I was trying to make a point about the elitist in the GOP from the coasts who have controlled the the party and the selection of candidates, by being too general/flippant in my comments.

As for “am I this or that” Calpernia, that is up to the individual person to look at themselves....Very recently we lost a wonderful female pastor. She had a stoke and died. IMO the pressures brought on her by a group of men (Who ancestors BTW were connected to the KKK) in our church brought on the stress that eventually caused her stroke. Misogynistic comment were made before she even entered the church.....SO much for southern Indiana.

Name calling/or excusing name calling is an invalidation, that is never acceptable.....The other evening I was expressing my views and each time a certain male freeper responded to me, he prefaced it with a name or negative word. I called him on it stating the word is an invalidation which was uncalled for. He answered each time with another invalidation, and eventually went off....I left him with his thoughts...Not my problem.

We are going to be dealing with a lot of misogynist comments when we support Sarah, both from the left and from the good ol boy GOB-GOP. Some will be very subtle. It behooves us to arm ourselves with knowledge not only to recognize it, but also to counter it...the book is an excellent tool. Hope it helps.
