Calm urged after N Korea missiles
BBC ^

Russia, China and the US have all called for calm after North Korea test-fired a series of missiles.

Seven Scud-type ballistic missiles with a range of about 500km (312 miles) were fired in an apparent act of defiance against the US, on 4 July.

Russia and China called on Pyongyang to return to talks, while a US official urged it not to aggravate tensions.

North Korea is banned from all ballistic missile-related activities under UN sanctions.

The sanctions were strengthened after the communist nation carried out a second underground nuclear test in May.

North Korea has launched a number of missiles since the test. On Thursday it fired four short-range missiles.

'Not helpful'

Saturday's launches came from a base on its east coast. Three were fired in the morning, a fourth around noon local time and three more in the afternoon, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said.

UN’s note to NK:

“Stop! Or we’ll tell you to stop again!”

They should stop. And if they don’t then they need to be told to stop again. Maybe telling them they will have to stand in the corner for a time out session will motivate them to stop. If not, then it’s not fair. < /sarcasm >

What would we do if the UN told us not to fire any missiles?

... while a US official urged it not to aggravate tensions.

Is that what the NK's are doing? "Aggravating Tension"? These Obama spokesmen do have an interesting way of putting things. Like calling the Iranian street demonstations (& the Iranian government's violent response), "A vigorous Debate." Cheeze!

Good question. Also. Where is that goofy bunch from the “Concerned scientists” who “move the hands of their clock” closer to “midnight” every time a Republican is in office. The way I see it, it’s now 10 minutes AFTER “midnight” and we are overdue for a nuclear event. If these “concerned scientists” were legit, they should all have a big wet spot on the front of their pants right now.

it would be no different if he were jumping up and down on his east coast beach lighting firecrackers while screaming "look at me, I'm a threat". Let's face it: if he lights off an ICBM in our direction, even obammy doesn't have a choice but to shoot it down.

Being on the terror list aggravated the crap out of him. We should freeze his money again and tell him he is now part of the evil axis again since he couldn’t behave. For some reason that got under his skin more than anything. pretty funny if you ask me.

Another Korean conflict on the horizon. This time obozo will let the North takover the south. North doesn’t care about the 49th parallel.

I don’t think it much matters whether NK is on the “Terror List” or not. Lil’ Kim needs the US as a bogeyman to keep his creaky totalitarian state in some semblance of order.

I’m not saying that we shouldn’t be concerned, Wars have started through accidents & miscalculation, but a lot of this has to do with the succession crisis going on right now in NK.

I’ll bet the public was told to be “calm” when Hitler invaded Poland.
