Why Do You Dislike Sarah Palin?
7/4/2009 | USAHOME

Posted on 07/04/2009 8:38:11 AM PDT by USAHOME

When my daughter came to me and told me her friends on Facebook were saying horrible things about Sarah Palin, I told her to get back online and ask them specifically why they were calling Sarah Palin names. Not one of them replied—they had no answer. They don’t know why they hate her, but they just do.

Sarah Palin did nothing wrong to these people, or to the rest of the United States. If she had a ‘D’ after her name, she’d be hailed a hero in the mainstream media. However, just because she stands for what’s right in America, believes in making our country energy independent (which is a GREAT thing), and believes that special needs children are a gift from God...but that makes her a bad person? I don’t understand what these people are thinking—other than they’re NOT thinking.

My goal is for just ONE person to actually think with their own mind instead of believing what they’re told to believe. If just one of these ‘friends’ of my daughter were actually forced to face the facts, with no political party behind Sarah Palin’s name, I’m certain they wouldn’t hate the woman. She’s more American than any of these people who are hating her in the mainstream media. I also think if these people were to actually research the facts on some of the people who were elected, whether eligible or not for their offices, they’d think twice about who they voted for and would join with the people who do use their brains.

I feel like I’m living in the Matrix. Just take the blue pill and everything will be wonderful, even though bad things are going on behind the scenes. Personally, I choose the red pill…and make informed choices. Oh yeah…and with those informed choices, I choose to like Sarah Palin. I wish I had half the guts she did, and were willing to stand up for what’s right, regardless of the consequences.

Palin AND the conservatives in 2012…I think our country would be a better place.

Happy Fourth of July! God Bless America!

Thank you for venting.

Vent some more.

But since when is the truth written so eloquently and clearly, venting?

You’re a gem, and thank you!

I’m a writer—I write fiction novels. So it had better be written well (this is practice for me)! HA!

I vent a lot...you should hear me ‘vent’ (screaming and all) at the television...and that’s just FoxNews. I refuse to watch the MSM except for the weather.

Thank you!

OH...my son has a new idea for conservatives. ‘Take the red pill and vote for the truth.’

The red states (like the red pill in the Matrix) voted Republican...the blue states (like the blue pill) kept their heads in the sand and didn’t know or care what was happening.

I thought it was very clever. I wish I’d have thought of it!

I don’t dislike her. I’d vote for her in a second. But the reasons she is giving for what she did don’t make sense. And if they truly are her reasons then I think she made a mistake.

You are insinuating that if one criticizes Sarah Palin's actions, he dislikes her. Any politician--and yes, Sarah Palin is a politician--who quits midstream sends the message to one and all that the job, and all it entails, is too much for her.

Until she clarifies her reasons for resigning, or it becomes clear due to a FBI investigation or other situation (e.g., a health problem), The perception will be that she could no longer take it. Fine and dandy if she doesn't run for office again, but disastrous if she thinks that this will be a resume enhancer for 2012.

So, when Gov. Ronald Reagan dropped out of politics when his second term ended in 1974 and he started writing a syndicated newspaper column and provided commentaries on radio stations, he was sending a message that it was too tough for him?

When Richard Nixon withdrew from politics after he lost his run for the California governorship in 1962, telling the media they wouldn't have Richard Nixon to kick around anymore, he was sending a message that it was too tough for him?

Should one find a mountain in one's path, Grasshopper, often the easier route forward is around the mountain rather than through it.

You can't see the difference between finishing one's elected term and quitting before it's over?

By your lights, Reagan quit before he made another run for higher office.

What I can't see is the relevance of your initial comment.

Until she clarifies her reasons for resigning

I watched her speech for the second time and it was just more politicians being politicians. I also could not figure out the real reason why she resigned. Just come right out and tell the truth and be clear about it. "This is the reason why I resigned and this is what I'm going to do". She only needed a few sentances but she meandered on with "political speech" and on.

I like her plenty. I’m just really, really pissed at her for the moment.

“Why Do You Dislike Sarah Palin? Inquiring FReepers want to know.”

Ridiculous nonsense. Just because we refuse to delude ourselves regarding this incident doesnt mean we dislike her. I dont know when the other shoe will drop but I am sure it is coming. If I am wrong I will admit it. If YOU are wrong will you apologize to those of us who refuse to delude ourselves.

I certainly hope The Great One is correct.

It seems like a tremendous hurdle to overcome (the resignation), at least by conventional political wisdom…

But this woman has a record of doing just this sort of thing. Her record is a dozen years of defying ‘conventional wisdom’.

So here’s hoping. If she runs, she has my vote.

I don’t fear anyone, but GOD. And there is so much blood in our land and lies and deceit and sodomy in our people that I can’t see any way past judgment of America. Thank the Lord, literally, that I know where I’ll spend eternity.

Those young girls don’t know Sarah Palin. They only know Tina Fey........and they truly believe that it was a spot on impersonation.
