"What (Palin) had, more than anything else, was a toughness and a dedication to her position. She blew all that with her announcement today."
One of the things that Palin had going for her was that she was, as Cindy McCain described her during the Republican National Convention, a "hockey-mommin' ... basketball shootin' ... moose huntin' ... fly-fishin' ... pistol-packing ... mother of five." She had been nicknamed "Sarah Barracuda," and took on the "good ole' boys" who controlled Alaska politics.
However, to all but her most loyal supporters, today's bizarre press conference made her look brittle -- like a person who couldn't take the heat and was buckling in the face of attacks. Today's move is perfectly understandable if she wants to give up politics and protect her family from the blistering assaults of the media and her political oppenents. Maybe this news -- odd within the political realm -- actually makes her a pretty normal person by real world standards. But normal people do not get elected president.

I cannot believe how most of our conservative journalists are taking this. Its really pissing me off. Just sayin.
“But normal people do not get elected president”
Which is what’s wrong with America.
“actually makes her a pretty normal person by real world standards. But normal people do not get elected president.”
Why even bother clicking on the link.
Nothing and she has proved she still can control herself and her life.
It is because they are NOT conservative journalists, they are Republicans. I am with you about them.
Go Sarah!!!
I think she read and understands “The Art of War”.
“I cannot believe how most of our conservative journalists are taking this. Its really pissing me off. Just sayin.”
The people on TV and in these magazines are as much conservative as Sen. Spector.
The only real journalist we have are on talk radio and blogs. they arent trying to get invited to parties.
Another little man with an inferiority complex heard from. Good grief...who knew the American Spectator, Fox News, Washington Times etc. was populated by a bunch of spiteful little boys who felt threatened by Sarah?
Someone else who can’t think outside the box.
“Business as usual” in Washington brought us the wonderful candidate of John McCain with a handful of other empty suits vying for the position. It also brought is a completely unqualified President, elected by a dumbed down public because of the color of his skin, a clever teleprompter that made it sound like he had half a brain in his head, and a media that for some incomprehensible reason wants to see America destroyed.
Hey, if Palin’s going to go out and take the message directly to the people unfettered by the restraints of the “head of the ticket” or her official position as Governor of Alaska - well, that’s a good thing. The frightening thing is... I’m not sure she IS going to do that. Time will tell. I hope so, because, as I said in another thread, our bullpen is empty.
I’m amazed at the tone deafness of many political “pundants.”
This is the new Republican Party speaking....the one that is moving as quickly as it can to kill the Conservative base once and for all.
If it is just that she has had enough then I can't blame her..she is not a loser like the dems she is a classey lady something the democrats know nothing about..
“Go Sarah!!!”
_______________
It’s no longer necessary to say “Go Sarah!!!”
She already gone.
Sarah appears to be taking more "HEAT" and criticism (including the "REPORTS OF HER DEATH, BEING HIGHLY EXAGGERATED") by so-called "Conservatives" (including, I might add, more than a few here--No doubt, Romney/Huckster supporters?) than she has from the Far-Left Lame Stream Media as well as other Moonbat sources, around the country!
WTF is up with that??? OH YEE OF LITTLE FAITH!!!
I hear ya’ loud and clear on that.
That might be because they were never Conservatives to begin with.....
I have had my doubts that Sarah could recover and run for president BEFORE she quit. Now I have MORE doubts. As much as I like Sarah I am not going to cling to the hope she will rise above it all. She cannot quit the presidency if elected....and the heat will most definitely still be there if she made it. What then?
I hope Sarah is forging another role for herself in the future.
Me too! Has there been one, just one, to come out and say lets give this time and see what she is going to do. I heard that fathead Ed Rollins on CNN. I swear I wanted to punch him. He said now she is just a laughing stock. Nothing serious about her. Im just really pissed.
