But it just upset the loved ones of the retarded

Umm, Erik? Most of us who are civilized and educated don't use that word anymore. Most of us have evolved since junior high school. The USE of that offensive and ugly word simply PROVES that you are not sincere about any apology. As the father of a severely developmentally disabled young man, I dare you, Erik, to come and call my son that word. You'd be pissing blood for a week.

I totally agree! I think it was just another vile dig toward Trig and ALL developmentally challenged individuals and their families!

You'd be pissing blood for a week.

I'm betting Todd Palin is thinking the same as you!

[[Umm, Erik? Most of us who are civilized and educated don’t use that word anymore.]]

We do use it, but not to describe children who are have learning difficulties- We use the word to describe people like Erik- The word has been retired when discussing people with learning difficulties, or developmental difficulties, but I think the word should be ressurected to describe people like Erik who obviously have difficulty understanding that he’s a moron with no class whatsoever.
