The United States is opposed to enacting a new set of financial sanctions against Iran that are due to be discussed in the G8 summit next week, diplomatic officials in New York reported Friday.
According to officials, sanctions against Iran are expected to top the G8's agenda. Sources are also predicting a pointed debate between the heads of the industrialized nations over an appropriate response to Iranian authorities' suppression of reformist demonstrations in Iran led by Mir Hossein Mousavi and other Iranian opposition leaders.
Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi hinted in a newspaper interview earlier in the week that the G8 is due to decide on new financial sanctions against the Islamic Republic. Berlusconi disclosed that he had spoken with the heads of the G8 nations and has discussed such steps with them. Does anyone doubt he is a Sleeper Muslim?
Behold the new world order, Obama and Clinton style, to the left of Italy.
Just like Putin told us to say. Ahmadinejad is executing the young people who were brave enough to demand fair elections and want some personal freedoms.
The Obamanation is now officially worse than anything Jimmy Carter was able to do.
FUBO
Sleeper hell, he's wide awake for anyone who can see
All out sanctions against Honduras, but lets let our muslim brothers have as much money as they need.
honduras get a club, go communist or muslim and make billions from the 0 administration.
BO has got to go. Impeach him, now.
But seriously, when have sanctions really ever worked?
BO wants to be bold and all implied to lay their trust in such evil decisions of his... interesting twist from hell.
He sure wants all our moneys and trusts and powers. He’s a little toy man with buttons to big toys, stroking the tigers’ bellies.
This pride of his is going to be contagious, to say the least, and to the worst and for the worst.
If the sanctions against Iran involve stopping shipments of gasoline to the regime, the sanctions could be devastating. Iran is oil-rich but seriously lacking refineries. They need to import most of their gasoline.
But when have they really ever worked...they did not work against Saddam, they are not working in Cuba after almost 50 years, not against the Norks...
Its a mad house...A MAD HOUSE!!!
You’re right, sanctions alone will not topple this regime. The action would be symbolic, though, and would be a shot in the arm for the protestors who think the outside world doesn’t care about their plight.
I’m betting BO made a deal with the devil to get that reporter released recently.
Obama has this thing for Ahmadinejad and Chavez. They’re buddies.
Obama probably will offer them financial assistance instead.
0bowdown loves tyrants and Muslims.
