Get a grip guys.
If she is planning a 2012 run, quiting the governorship does not help her. In fact, it just hands a boat load of ammo to use against her.
That is not the reason she quit. I don't know that is, but I would be surprised if she is even in the news by this time next year.

What a splendid coincidence.

Let Mitch take Lugar’s seat when the time comes. He can be like Lamar!!! in that respect, and like Dick he can put Reagan behind him. I really wish Hucklebuck would do the same in Arkansas.

Palin is totally unqualified to be president of the United States, and the current conservative lovefest with her is a sign of deep political delusion on the right. Tell me, beckett, what qualifies you to make this statement?
Thomas Sowell believes her to be qualified, I know his qualifications for stating that. So do John O'Sullivan, Rush Limbaugh, R. Emmett Tyrrell, Mark Steyn, Fred Malek, Laura Ingraham, Tammy Bruce, to name a few, and I also am aware of their qualifications.
What we need to learn, beckett, are your qualifications.
The floor is yours.

I agree with you there. Nobody has the ability to rally the base and raise money in the Republican party like she can. If I were her, I’d focus on helping Republicans do well across the country (as Reagan did in 1978). She can also polish her speaking style and brush up on issues.

...the press will eat her alive, turnign hte ocutnry against her just like they did this last time- She cant win with the vehemence in the press towards her,Big Media will go after any candidate that runs against Obama.

Bobby Jindal, Mitch Daniels and Rick Perry come to mind.
To you maybe, but most of America goes “Who?”

“Not only is she going to remain visible - she will become the obvious opposition to Obama.”
FINALLY! A Conservative with cahoonas who will speak up! I’m tired of all these sissy boy RINOs worrying about the ‘big tent’. Did Reagan worry about the ‘big tent’ when all those moderate dems and independents voted for him?
To: WhistlingPastTheGraveyard
Wouldn’t mind being wrong, to be honest.
But this is a horrible move. It suggest that she is either weak or has something to hide.

It seems very unlikely that Sarah is planning to run for President in 2012.
It is too early to think about 2012 and it seems unlikely that she is doing that.
She is quitting the job because she is just tired of it and fed up attacks on her family, her political career is over and that about sums about it.
She could hit the Cable Tv circuit and stay as a commentator but not as a politician.

There was a comment that the grassroots tea parties need a leader, someone to follow....Now that she's not gov, she'll be able to say what most folks are thinkin... she be our leader.
Organized politics better look out! “Only dead fish go with the flow!”
