For those of you who say that her resignation means she’s running for the presidency, think again...

This seems like a very, very strange way to launch a presidential bid. Not only did she make the announcement at a time traditionally reserved to bury horrible news but her speech seemed hastily pulled together, replete with the bizarre lame-duck rationale, instead of sounding polished the way one would expect you’d do for an announcement this big.

It seems to me that she did this for the kids, to protect them and to spend more time with them, but if that’s true, why not make that the focus of the speech and give this speech on Monday morning, when the media’s rested and ready for a full week of new coverage?

Quitting for her family only makes her sympathetic. And if that’s the real reason, why obscure it?

I still say the timing and the speech itself is STRANGE.

another person who likes sarah but questions questions...

look, she ain’t running for Pres now, who knows, maybe ever (I hope not) but this is all about 2010. If good things happen in 2010, she calls more shots in 2012. why is that so hard to understand. I think it’s great she can come down to lower 48 and elect real conservatives? Do you or don’t you?

Do you think people in OH district are going to care if Palin stumps for an R there that she resigned in AK? good grief

with friends like you....

Well if you'd read her statement you'd see that this in the plans for weeks.

Look, at this time we don't know what Palin will do. I'm all in favor of just letting events play out. If she doesn't run or is too marginalized for 2012, then we'll have to go somewhere else.

I don't know. If it allows her to be front and center in DC on September 11- 12 it might be great timing.

Let’s think about this. Why on earth would a person in Palin’s position give ANY advantage whatsoever to a media which is out to destroy any credibility she has or ever will have?

I see the strategy in her timing. It makes perfect sense against the drive-by’s.
