*** Madoff's victims know their tormentor will never be released from prison. Judge Denny Chin's sentence was appropriate.....Madoff was one of the most vile and disgusting individuals to ever enter the criminal-justice system. NAMES REDACTED Upper Saint Clair, Pa.
*** Now we can go after even bigger thieves, like Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and all the other social Democrats. Pine Bush
*** The possibility of his wife and sons being convicted would be icing on the cake. Manhattan
*** The very wealthy who lost money were victims only to our culture's most unattractive traits: greed and snobbery. You can't con an honest man. Glen Head
*** To his "victims" who "lost everything"......you invested it all with Madoff, violating common sense and 1st rule of investing....to diversify. Far Rockaway

Let’s start with Franklin Raines, Chris Dodd and Barney Frank-N-Furter.
But only because the elites themselves fell for the con. If he had focused exclusively on, say, middle class retirees, nobody would remember his name.
Jane Fonda was out whining about how "evil" Madoff is and screaming for vengeance.
What a hoot--Hollywood Marxists discover private property. They also discover absolutist morality!! They now know that evil exists!
I get the feeling that around 90% of his customers are the kind of people who vote to see people like me taxed to death, secure in the notion that their booties were covered.
Reminds me of a line in Revelation..."Having lived deliciously, robed in purple and scarlet, she was stripped naked before the nations"--the Whore of Babylon.
Has anybody noticed that no big, drawn out trial was conducted with Madoff? If there would have been a trial, more and more information would have come out about him and the people he worked with. But it was all rushed through and kept quiet.
I’m reading Glenn Beck’s “Common Sense.” In the section I read last night he made a point about the number of people who now favor socialism over capitalism (particluarly in the under 30 set). He made the point that people now think capitalism is about greed. No, it’s about FREEDOM. There will always be jerks like Madoff, & people just don’t seem to be capable of making distinctions between criminal behavior & the right to be successful in this world.
“Now, let’s get the bigger thieves-Obama, Pelosi, Dems.”
Democrats do everything for the children and are therefore noble, superior, enlightened and without fault, not-to-mention seven steps higher on the evolutionary scale.

IMHO
There's still all the civil suits to be worked out.
Madoff has not been really punished until his wife, son’s and other employees have gone to jail. He didn’t do this alone. His wife does not deserve to be free with even %2.5 Million. Our Justice Dept needs to get off the stick and stop passing out get our of jail free cards.
Most of us would be very happy leaving our widow with $2.5 m to live on. She should at least get some practice as a bag lady.
Try to remember-Democrats dont commit crimes. They are all tolerant and compassionate abortion worshippers who valiantly defend free speech (for everyone but Republicans). At least three times a day they are incommunicado while they apply remedies to their persistent crotch itches.
I think Martha Stewart’s trial took longer.

My take is much like yours. Many good observations there.
Why is this man the only one going to jail for cheating people out of their money..We have a president and congress that do that to us ever day,why not put them in jail.. Some people have no clue what is going on in this country..
It is amazing, isn’t it? Madoff was bad enough, but he stole “only” $50 Billion.
Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Raines, Dodd, Frank, Schumer, Rangel, Feinstain, Boxer, et al destroy Western Civilization and put us into trillions of debt from which the nation may never recover and they get off scot free. There is simply no justice in the world.
Liberals' wet dream come true........obliteration of the the line between right and wrong.
Congressman Thad McCotters Five GOP fundamental principles
1. Our liberty is from God not the Government.
2. Our sovereignty is in our souls not the soil.
3. Our security is through strength not surrender.
4. Our prosperity is from the private sector not the public sector.
5. Our truths are self evident, not relative.
When people fear govt, we have tyranny; when govt fears the people, we have freedom.
I tend to agree with the comments that a lot of his victims had it coming. Anyway, the better sentence would have been to put Bernie to work at Wal Mart, give him a trailer to live in, and take a little bit every week for the victims. Cost the taxpayers less, and make Bernie live like what he was trying so hard not to live like.
parsy, the merciful
GO Thad!
I so agree. They should strip these people of their wealth and put them in jail for 150 years.
Okay, NONE of the investors did any due diligence. Had they done ANY, THIS WOULDN’T HAVE HAPPENED!!!!!
Same story for banks. BORROWERS BORROWED MORE THAN THEY COULD AFFORD AND REFUSE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.
Enter Congress and Obama. The perfect excuse to massively transfer wealth to “victims” who happen to be minorities and their friends.
