LONDON (AP) — British researchers have announced the discovery of a rare original copy of America's Declaration of Independence — just in time for the Fourth of July.

Katrina McClintock, a spokeswoman at the National Archives, said Thursday that a researcher accidentally discovered the "Dunlap print," named after a printer, several months ago. The find was announced only after it could be properly catalogued.

Edward Hampshire, the National Archives' specialist in colonial materials, said the find was "incredibly exciting."

"It is likely that only around 200 of these were ever printed, so uncovering a new one nearly 250 years later is extremely rare, especially one in such good condition," he said.

Lost page of American history found at The National Archives
02 July 2009

A rare print of America’s Declaration of Independence has been found among files at The National Archives at Kew.

Printed on 4 July 1776, the Dunlap print is one of only 26 known copies in the world and is named after John Dunlap, the printer whose name is at the bottom of each copy.

The last discovered Dunlap Declaration, found at a flea market in 1989, sold at auction in 2000 for $8.14million.

The newly discovered print was found, hidden among correspondence from American colonists intercepted by the British in the 18th century, by an American carrying out research at The National Archives.

The 26th Dunlap Declaration of Independence - Catalogue reference EXT 9/93

A copy of this rare find can be downloaded free of charge from our DocumentsOnline service, or you can choose a colour image of all three copies of the Declaration held by The National Archives, the only copies held outside the United States, for 75 pence.

Was it the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution that was written on hemp (i.e., marijuana) paper...or could it have been both???

But we still can’t find Obama’s birth certificate.

The point of the article is.....

.....You have to wait over 200 years for it to be found.

Yes it is...they are both either Cannabis sativa or C. indica. Hemp is the fibrous stalk of the plant, while marijuana is the THC-containing flowering buds. Most of the Cannabis that is grown for its fiber these days have a minimal THC content.

And it will be found by British researchers in their own archives.

And by then, the MUK (Muslim United Kingdom) will hail it not as an astonishing piece of evidence that Obama was usurper.....

.....but as a remarkable record of the Islamic Revolution and "The One" who made taking down the USA possible.

Or something like that. It will be a good thing, not a bad thing in their eyes.
