Capping and Trading Away Our Jobs
The American Thinker ^ | July 03, 2009 | Howard Richman, Raymond Richman, and Jesse Richman

In his weekly radio address on June 27, President Barack Obama praised the House of Representatives for just passing the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009, more commonly known as the cap and trade climate bill. He said:

This historic piece of legislation will not just lessen our dependence on foreign oil, but also spark a clean energy transformation in our economy that will create millions of new American jobs that pay well and cannot be outsourced. Clean energy and the jobs it creates are critical to building a new foundation for our economy.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says this is a jobs bill, "Jobs, jobs, jobs." Unfortunately, the jobs created in alternative energy sources will be more than offset by job losses; and the "millions" of jobs that the bill is supposed to create can indeed be outsourced. In fact, GE is already importing wind turbines from its plants in China, Germany and Spain to supply wind farms in the United States.

America's commitment to unilateral free trade assures GE and other investors who build new factories in China, or anywhere else, that they can expect to import wind and solar machinery into the US without any duties whatsoever. The Chinese government uses currency manipulations, VAT duties and rebates, tariffs, export-subsidies, and non-tariff barriers to guarantee that China is a better place for new factories than the United States. Meanwhile, we punish American producers with the second highest corporate income tax in the world. Is it any wonder that net investment in American manufacturing has been close to zero in recent years?

Even worse is the loss of jobs that the rising cost that cap and trade will cause to our mining, agriculture, and manufacturing sectors.

Notice how they NEVER give specifics or detail of HOW they plan on doing it? They only make claims of great success without a detailed explanation of how that will occur.

For one, their approach cannot possibly achieve the results they claim. It is against all laws of physics to produce so much energy from the methods they proclaim.

If anything, this will do what other studies have confirmed previously. That being, the fact that for every “Green” job created, 3 regular jobs will be lost.

Add all the other chaos of Nationalized Health Care, more Federal bailouts, we then have a formula for what Gerald Cellente refers to as an “Economic Apocalypse”.

I must agree completely.

Socialists, communists, and Marxists all have in mind an ideal society that runs counter to laws of physics, natural law, fundamental economic theory, and human behavior. It sounds good, but has NEVER worked. The greedy and ignorant voters of our country have elected the warped and twisted demented people that are now destroying our country.

I have never seen anything like it in the USA.

Not all of us! They think they are in control...But HE alone is in control. I still believe we stand in the gap for the whole. We must also think about the way most Americans have disregarded God and have done just what they want.

God help us! God hear us! God bless us!

This is just a big money grabbing scheme perpetrated by the socialists. The only thing that this will accomplish is more opportunities for Big Corruption and Liberals getting RICH.
Case in point, ENRON became a huge corrupt monster through the trading of “Sulfur Emmission Credits”, forced by the Clean Air Act.
We all know how that turned out.

Before they cap and traded the jobs left; they globally traded away most of them. This is just the finishing touch from the global “citizens of the world.”

The word dysfunctional comes to mind. There are too many political parasites making money off the chaos they create and living high off the hog in Washington DC
