Not sure of the restriction's on AP posts, so suffice to say I suspect and hope that this infuriates more Americans to action.

unlikely. the bulk of the population thinks they are due ‘stuff’. any ‘stuff’. so they are going to grab it with both fists, regardless of what they give away in the process.

personally, i’m tired of it and am actively looking for an exit strategy

anyone that says you can ‘just leave if you don’t like it here’... isn’t in the minority being targeted by the left to be tax raped.

you cannot ‘just leave’. they expect you to keep paying even if you’ve lived outside the US for years (yet don’t bother to tax the 20 million illegals while they use the services i’d be paying for... while overseas)

Honduras is looking promising these days. :)

What I would *really* like to see is Cuba throwing off the yoke of Communism and going totally democratic.

Gotta bone up on my Espanol!

Yep. I'm one of those evil people being target by Obama as well. To top it off I live in California... It seems they are doing their best to either ruin me or drive me out of the county...

And I employ people and export products outside the country. What they desperately need... Our country is run by idiots.

the bahamas have a 0% tax rate. isle of man and jersey, 10% with a cap of 100,000 pounds. hong kong is also 10% tax

i have asked numerous congressional and senatorial staffers to tell me just 2 things i get for my federal tax dollars. exclude the military, as i cannot call in an air strike (even though i have a few targets).

i know what i get for state taxes. roads, schools, fire/police, utilities, etc... and the average state tax is like 5% (0% here in florida.. with a 5-7% sales tax). yet... my fed tax is 50%, threatening 60-65% next year.

for 10 TIMES the money, they can’t even come up with TWO(2) things i get for my federal income tax money.

why the HELL should i keep paying them? just to avoid being thrown in prison? then why not stop calling it an ‘income tax’ and call it what it is.

federal ‘protection tax’

“Senate aides, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly, said the cost of the federal plan would be lower but declined to provide specifics.”

So this means I can leave my more expensive employee health benefits plan and join the federal plan? I can’t imagine one employer who wouldn’t gladly pay the $750.00 per employee cost NOT to cover their employees.

What this is telling me is that this is basically a full Government takeover of health care. How in world would private plans compete?

I’m I reading this correctly or is it really that obvious what the real objective is here?

I don’t agree with the fine at all. However, I do believe in making them pay the whole bill. Oh and for those who say that they can just do a bankrupsy...nope they should not allow medical bills to be erased just like student loans. Sure they can refuse to ever pay but then they will never be able to buy a home or have any worthwhile credit score for the rest of their lives. This is so reasonable that I can’t believe they don’t put that in the bill.

It is amazing how George Clooney has taken over this thread. George Clooney said the same thing that he thinks living overseas is better during the Bush Administration. I think he must have given the FREEPERS the idea here too. Very Strange that FREEPERS agree with George Clooney...who would have thunk it.

All employees of the insurance companies will lose their jobs and be replaced with union protected government employees. It’s taking an entire sector and turning it into a labor union - probably run by Obama’s California union buddies, now that they’re almost done destroying CA.

Medical bills are pretty much explained away when you work with a mortgage broker. Mortgage lenders don’t see medical bills as “bad” debt if everything else is decent.

Yep!
“At their heart, all the bills would require insurance companies to sell coverage to any applicant, without charging higher premiums for pre-existing medical conditions. The poor and some middle-class families would qualify for government subsidies to help with the cost of coverage. The government's costs would be covered by a combination of higher taxes and cuts in projected Medicare and Medicaid spending.”

The way I see this, the whole health care BS isn't about offering people affordable health care. Tax revenues are way down, the deficit is uncontrollable at this point, all these premiums will go into the general fund and “managed” by some bureaucrat. We will still have no health care just a what amounts to a deli counter number.

.
The contrariwise to logic, put up all kinds of obstacles to the free market, making it difficult to have insurance in the first place, then say Healthcare Insurance doesn’t work

Not to mention putting a complete business sector out of existence, making many more unemployed. No one has discussed what the ramifications are for putting Aetna, Humana, Blue Cross, Blue Shield out of business and all their employees out on the street.

Maybe it will be like you can’t renew your car registration until you pay your fines...you won’t be able to go to the doctor or be admitted to a hospital until you pay the fine. This will allow a black market for health care to develop to take care of the “finers”, not the whiners who will be told by the federal plans to live with their pain or just die.
