Did the Senate Health, Labor, Education, and Pensions (HELP) Committee figure out a way to provide most Americans with health insurance coverage for a lot less money than anyone thought possible? That's what a quick read of some news items seems to suggest. But it's not exactly true.
The AP is reporting that the HELP committee has brought the CBO score of their revised health-care bill down to $600 billion, and that the new bill will cover 97% of America's legal population. The first version of the bill was scored at $1 trillion, and was projected to only cover about 16 million people.
But as The New Republic's Jon Cohn notes, the new numbers are somewhat misleading. The expanded coverage numbers aren't possible unless you also factor in an expansion of Medicaid that isn't included in the $600 billion price tag an expansion that will probably raise the total cost to between $1 and $1.3 trillion. So it's incorrect to say that the bill would cover most Americans for only $600 billion.

He is going to improve your healthcare by denying you “unecessary” health care and cutting old people’s medicare, and he is going to “control costs” by taxing you ONE TRILLION dollars.
We’re not missing anything here, there is no advantage to the 80% of Americans satisfied with their health care.
This is about the “fairness” of giving everyone a crap Third World level of medicine.

These people are doing nothing but jiggering the numbers.
They just reword things and think the problem goes away.
Does this even take into account the cost of establishing a huge new bureaucracy to oversee this thing? The costs are going to be enormous!
bttt
This whole situation is made up.
Those who don’t have medical insurance are still using County Health Dept. Clinics and the ER in Hospitals. What they don’t get is help with Long Term Medications unless they find an Agency who will help them with the paperwork.
There are advertisements everywhere for insurance coverage . . . $6 a day for a single person to have health care coverage . . . just quit buying cigarettes and drinking a beer every day and they can buy their own health insurance.
As I’ve said before . . . Health Care is a State Problem, NOT the Federal Government’s problem. One size doesn’t fit all? Then it’s not Federal Government’s situation to “fix.”
In the US Constitution the Federal Government is to “provide for the common welfare.” It doesn’t say WELFARE PAYMENT or HEALTH CARE. It’s pretty obvious it means “to keep US Citizens safe from enemies.” But instead of keeping those whose interest is the overthrow of the Government . . . aka Muzlems . . . out of the Country, instead of protecting our borders and accepting only approved non-citizens, the Federal Government steps on the State’s Rights . . . and FEW State Governors put their collective feet down and say “Whoa! The Federal Government is stepping into the State’s business.”
And the Entitlement-Freebie Babies want theirs at any cost. Problem is You and I are paying the cost.
IF the 16th Amendment were repealed, States could raise taxes and provide for doctors and dentists for adults and children in the County Health Departments.
The solution is just too easy . . . and takes Control away from the Federal Government.

O’Rly!
Hey, question for this so-called HELP committee and Barry:
What happened to the $634 billion that Obamas budget (February) set aside for this very health care plan and why has this not been include/incorporated into the overall cost(s)of ObamaCare?!? =.=
