Like most Americans, I have heard enough from the adulterers.
John Ensigns press conference was blissfully short. Mark Sanfords is interminable. Every day brings a cringe-inducing new update. The bottom line is the same: men who should know better, out of an inflated sense of ego, blow up their careers and their families for transitory pleasures.
We cant learn much from them. But their spouses and the reaction to their spouses tell us something about where we are and where we are heading in the culture wars.
Jenny Sanford is the new feminist icon. Defiant, brave, principled, and funny. When the New York Times praised her I wondered how long it would be until the media elites had second thoughts. After all she is, you know, a conservative. And, psst shes a also a devout Christian. How can she be an icon with all that politically incorrect baggage?...

She called her husband out and she did not stand next to him at the press conference like so many political wives have done. Hopefully, she sends Mark packing and runs for governor.
Feminism? They still have that?
Good grief, she is not the first political wife to have a husband with a wandering eye and probably won’t be the last.
Does this qualify her to run for governor?
She did not stand by her man and that makes her better than other political wives that have had to make that humiliating appearance.
I have been told that she is the first cousin of Kennedy-cousin and convicted killer Michael Skakel (I understand that her mother and Skakel’s mother were sisters). Amazing what a small world it is.
LOL. It was a lot more than his eye that wandered.
That’s not the point. The point is you don’t appoint someone governor on emotions.
LOL That is obvious.
She has shown herself to be more responsible than the present SC governor.
Too small. We don’t need another member of that group in office. Look at Arnold.
Responsible to her family yes; but it’s still no reason to appoint her governor.
Some say she's the brains of the outfit having run his campaigns and been his highest ranking adviser.
Her personal accomplishments and credentials make her more fit to be governor than the One’s credentials to be president.
Why would she stand by him? She threw him out.
I never did say that she should be appointed governor.
However, after her husband told the world that his South American lover is his soul mate, I am surprised she is not facing a murder rap.
I will agree with that. Maybe she decided she had had enough and murder wasn’t worth it. :)
If you mean she managed his campagins; that makes her a campaign manager and I would worry about her Kennedy connections. Look at what they got in CA when they just had to have Arnold.
That may be what some say; but it doesn’t necessarily make it so.
You choose to ignore her career before she got involved with the jerk’s campaigns.
