Biden makes surprise visit to Iraq @ 1:05 pm by Eric Zimmermann

Joe Biden made a surprise visit to Iraq today, where he'll meet with Iraqi leaders and visit U.S. troops in advance of the Fourth of July.

Biden was recently tasked with overseeing the military's pullout from Iraq.

As a senator, Biden advocated partitioning Iraq into three geographic regions, a policy which made him none too popular with the Iraqi population.

And another angle: Biden's son, Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, is serving in Iraq as part of the Delaware National Guard.

From the White House:

Vice President Biden has arrived in Iraq to visit U.S. troops and to meet with Iraqi leaders, including President Jalal Talabani, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and Speaker of the Council of Representatives Ayad al-Samarrai. The Vice President will reiterate the United States' commitment to fully implement the Security Agreement and the Strategic Framework Agreement and to carry out President Obama's plan to draw down U.S. forces. He will discuss with Iraq's leaders the importance of achieving the political progress that is necessary to ensure the nation's long-term stability. This is Vice President Biden's second trip to Iraq this year and his first as Vice President.

After going to Penn., to speak and drawing a small crowd, he figured it would be best to go to Iraq and get some staged photos.

God Bless the men and women serving who have to put up with Joe and the azz clown 0.

I can’t stand Obama, but I can tolerate Biden. He is good for laugh every now and again, but being Vice President....that’s different.

Same here. At least Biden has a son who has served in the Military, and whatever other faults he may have (and they are numerous) at least there's no question of his eligibility to serve as POTUS.

Hopefully, they will be polite to him, but also make it clear they know what a imbecile and a ninny he is, and what they think of his plan to tear apart their nation meant to them.

He is in the rear with all that other sons of Senators, Congressmen and governors being protected by real servicemen.

Exactly, At least if he visits the troops, he can get soldiers ordered to attend his events. Our troops so don’t deserve this.

Biden makes surprise visit to Iraq:

Begs the question, who was surprised?

Biden at finding himself unexplicably in Iraq ... or the troops in Iraq that Asshat #2 showed up in their midst.

Obama plans continuous shuttling of Slow Joe between Iraq and Erie, PA the next four years. That should keep him out of the limelight.
